Biography
I am a NIDAN (2nd Degree Black Belt). I found my passion for self-defense at an early age when I was forced to learn how to defend my little brother while growing up. We did not know how to speak English when my mother moved us back to the States. We were thrown into the unforgiving chaos of middle school in South Florida.
I served 12 years in the US army with 4 combat deployments in the legendary 101st AASSLT immediately after high school. While recovering from my injuries received in military service, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in medical administration with an associates degree in medical assisting.
I also possess an associates degree in homeland security. After college, I transitioned to executive protection school. While there, I received multiple certifications in hand combat and combative weapons use along with situational awareness and psychological profiling, etc. I have been training at Harris Holt martial arts for seven years, and I have been a karate instructor for lil ninjas, child youth, and adult beginners to intermediate for the last two years. Recently, I accepted the position to working as an instructor for the mixed marital arts class, also known as MMA. Working here has allowed me to lead, teach, and train with others wanting to better themselves.
I became an instructor because I want to share with others the ability to handle life’s many challenges, but more importantly I want for others to enjoy the positive impact that martial arts has for both your mental health and your physical health. I never want to stop learning, growing, and sharing my knowledge of real-world experiences.
